ePlus and ExtraHop Power the Real-Time Healthcare System at Texas Children’s Hospital
Leading Children's Hospital Works with ePlus to Deploy Wire Data Analytics Platform to Fix, Optimize, and Transform IT Systems and Align IT and Clinical Workflows
HERNDON, VA - March 29, 2016 - ePlus inc. (NASDAQ NGS: PLUS - news) today announced that its subsidiary, ePlus Technology, inc., and ExtraHop have been selected by Texas Children's Hospital (TCH) to design and deploy wire data analytics to monitor the performance, availability, and security of TCH's IT environment.
TCH needed to troubleshoot data traffic issues and quickly diagnose application performance problems to speed resolution time and reduce service interruptions. The hospital wanted a platform to monitor across all tiers of its environment, from the network to storage, servers, and critical applications, including its EPIC electronic medical records system, nurse scheduling solution, and financial management solution.
In order to gain visibility into both its remote sites and its Citrix environment, Texas Children's Hospital deployed the ExtraHop wire data analytics platform running on the EH8000 appliance. The ExtraHop platform goes far beyond traditional performance management tools, delivering the real-time insight that puts IT teams back in control of even the most critical and demanding of environments.
TCH selected ePlus to manage this engagement due to its status as a trusted partner and technology advisor. For the past six years, ePlus has helped the hospital with various elements of its IT infrastructure, including integration, lifecycle management, staff augmentation, and senior level project management. ePlus worked collaboratively with the ExtraHop and TCH EPIC teams to help design and implement the solution.
"We value our relationship with ePlus, and they have yet again brought innovative solutions to help us solve critical business issues," said John Henderson, assistant vice president of Information Services at Texas Children's Hospital. "The ExtraHop solution allows our team to precisely and quickly isolate the root cause of any application delay and significantly reduce our mean time to repair, literally from days to minutes. This translates to greatly enhanced staff productivity, improved service delivery, cost savings, and increased reliability of patient applications-and ultimately better patient care."
"We're pleased to extend our relationship with Texas Children's Hospital through this ExtraHop engagement," said Darren Raiguel, executive vice president of technology sales at ePlus. "Many hospitals are looking for a platform to monitor their environment and truly understand application data traffic in real time from a deep technical perspective. With the ExtraHop solution in place, Texas Children's Hospital can be proactive-troubleshooting issues before they become problems."
"ePlus has long been a trusted ExtraHop partner, and they have a rich understanding of the value our platform can bring to enterprise IT," said Tom Estep, VP of Channel Sales at ExtraHop. "Working with ePlus during our proof of concept and deployment at Texas Children's Hospital helped us to rapidly deliver the visibility that the IT team needed in order to quickly fix and optimize the performance of mission-critical applications, ensure the security of patient data, and put the power of IT behind patient care."
