Why ePlus?
- The organization chose ePlus to harness the cost flexibility and scale of the cloud to build and launch a new software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform for its customers.
- ePlus had an existing relationship with the company, providing data center, security, and network solutions globally.
- They wanted a trusted IT advisor to architect the solution and ensure the security of their end customers’ data.
Solution
Microsoft Azure Foundation and Cloud Solution Provider Services
- ePlus discovered the business and technical requirements for the application in scope.
- Through a series of design sessions, ePlus created an Azure cloud solution that would meet the requirements of the application and allow them to scale effortlessly and geographically to meet the demands of their end customers.
- Multiple revisions of the design supported connectivity requirements for the company, outside developers, and remote application access. In addition, individual SaaS environments were isolated and secured.
- ePlus deployed and tested the solution in concert with the customer and assisted with onboarding.
- ePlus is working to provide long-term support and Cloud Managed Services for the environment so the customer can maintain a lean staff.
Business Outcomes
- With the secure Microsoft Azure foundation in place, the company was able to onboard its first SaaS customer quickly to deliver on the customer’s timeline using just-in-time cloud resources versus sourcing and implementing hardware on premises.
- Costs are designed to scale predictably as new SaaS customers are onboarded to allow the company to create fixed cost models that do not erode profitability through scale.
- Leveraging a complete Opex model, the solution was designed and implemented without requiring new headcount or purchasing new assets, freeing the startup’s staff to focus on their core business of attracting new customers, providing customer service, software development, containing costs, and driving software innovation.
