Solution
ePlus Storage-as-a-Service Leveraging Pure Storage Evergreen//One
-
ePlus engaged with the customer to identify the technical requirements and services needed for enterprise storage and data protection, building to their specific needs.
-
The solution consisted of multiple five-year ePlus Storage-as-a-Service subscriptions for each unique workload, including:
- One performance subscription and one capacity subscription at each of two physical locations
- The capacity subscriptions served as a target for Commvault backup data, which replicated bi-directionally
- The subscriptions were billed based on actual capacity used monthly, reducing the risk of over- or under-buying
- ePlus Enhanced Maintenance Support and a dedicated Technical Account Manager
Business outcomes
The customer achieved the ability to procure storage at its own pace, with predictable rates and reduced upfront costs. The migration to a consumption-based model aligned with the goal of reducing large up-front CapEx purchases.
- The company realized a significant improvement in its data protection posture, including a reduction in RTO from hours to seconds by using online array-based snapshots and replication.
- The customer gained increased confidence in their technology stack, by upgrading to an industry-leading storage platform with financially-backed, service-level agreements for performance, availability, energy efficiency, and more.
- Once the array was implemented, the customer increased fiscal efficiency further by leveraging the new storage as a replication target for an additional internal business group, resulting in further cost savings and reduced operational expenses over purchasing an additional array.
- They were able to achieve simplified storage operations and maintenance, freeing staff to shift their focus away from storage management and towards driving business objectives with increased efficiency and productivity.
