Solution
Data Center Modernization (for Healthcare)
- ePlus collaborated with NetApp and the customer to identify complex business challenges and develop effective solutions.
- Storage was rearchitected to support high performance and low latency for tier 1 applications (NetApp A400), while general applications provided a capacity-based flash tier (NetApp C400)—combined in a single cluster to enable dynamic workload positioning without complexity.
- Additional data security measures were implemented, including advanced security features within ONTAP (such as SVM DR, FPolicy extension blocking, and autonomous ransomware detection). The combination of high performance and capacity-based flash aligned workload requirements with total cost of ownership (TCO) needs.
Business Outcomes
- The customer was able to address dynamic growth and unpredictable performance requirements by building a storage ecosystem with multiple performance tiers while maintaining operational simplicity. Capacity-based flash allowed the medical center to procure additional capacity with a lower TCO.
- Advanced features within the storage added layers of security to prevent the loss of hospital and patient data, increasing continuity of critical services.
- ePlus services provided visibility and knowledge into the environment to provide full stack guidance and recommendations, reducing operational overhead and simplifying administrative requirements.
- Through orchestrated deployment, outdated and unsupported infrastructure was seamlessly removed and replaced, ensuring functional support.
- The customer was able to leverage the simplicity of NetApp workflows to streamline upgrades without downtime or onerous migration methods, freeing internal IT staff to focus on other strategic projects.
- The medical center has a stronger security posture and compliance standing by utilizing integrated ONTAP security features.
