Account Executive

 

DESCRIPTION:

Job Purpose:

Outside sales position. Focus on selling ePlus IT solutions (HW, SW and services) to state and local government agencies, K-12 and Higher Ed customers in North & South Carolina, leveraging existing and new statewide contracts as well as previous successful customer engagements. Prefer candidate reside in Raleigh, NC area.

Job Responsibilites:

    • Identify, contact and meet with the appropriate individuals within the above describe entities to understand their IT initiatives and opportunities and articulate ePlus’ value proposition
    • Work with Sales Manager to development sales and marketing strategies based on opportunities identified during these meetings
    • Execute against these strategies to drive new and incremental business
    • Ongoing account management of existing customer base
    • Requires extensive phone work and travel within North and South Carolina as necessary to meet objectives

REQUIREMENTS:

Job Knowledge/Skills:

    • Since a good deal of time will be spent working independently, this individual must be highly self-motivated, organized, and tenacious
    • Broad understanding of Information Technology – PCs, laptops, servers, networks, printers, Microsoft Office applications
    • Proven sales and closing skills
    • Strong presentation and writing skills
    • Professional appearance and attitude
    • Strong presentation and writing skills 

Education and Experience:

      • BA/BS
      • 2 or more years of inside or outside sales experience in the IT industry, preferably with a reseller or OEM (such as IBM, HP, Dell, Gateway, Cisco)
      • Prior experience selling to the public sector a plus
