What is leasing?

Leasing is a budget-conscious alternative to an outright purchase that enables the federal government to acquire an asset today that will be paid for over a period of time.

What can be leased?

Virtually any equipment required to meet the government’s mission can be leased. Types of assets include (but are not limited to):

  • Information Technology (IT), such as hardware, software, and services
  • Communications Equipment
  • Vehicles
  • Medical Equipment
  • Security Systems
  • Office Furniture
  • Specialty Equipment
  • Transportation Equipment
  • Maritime Equipment

Who Leases?

A variety of entities lease, including government end user agencies, government contractors, system integrators, and vendors.

What types of leasing solutions does ePlus offer?

  • Lease to Ownership Program (LTOP). Title passes to the government at lease end upon payment of a specified number of lease payments.
  • Lease. Straight lease with fair market value or no purchase option at lease end.
  • Lease with Option to Purchase (LWOP). Ownership does not pass automatically to the government at lease end. The government may elect to:
    1. Continue the lease,
    2. Return the equipment, or
    3. Purchase the equipment.
  • Specialty Payment Plan. Customized to meet specific agency needs.
